A first look at the full Japan map
Playground Games has revealed the full Summer Season map for Forza Horizon 6, giving players a better sense of the game’s Japan setting before launch.
The next entry in the long-running racing series is scheduled to arrive on May 16, 2026. The studio had already shared the game’s minimum through extreme PC requirements, and this latest reveal shifts the focus to geography instead of hardware, which is merciful for everyone who was tired of counting RAM sticks.
A new post on the official Forza Horizon X account, formerly Twitter, shows the complete map players can expect in the game. The layout stretches across a wide range of environments, from the snow-covered slopes of the Alps to Tokyo’s busy streets and quieter rural roads.
One detail that stands out is the label Summer Season printed on the map. That suggests the game may feature seasonal map changes, though Playground Games has not yet explained exactly how that system will work. For now, players are left with a preview and a fair amount of speculation, which is still very much on brand for pre-release game news.
Japan, but with more layers
The studio has said Forza Horizon 6 will feature Japan’s landscapes and that this will be its “most dense and vertical map yet.” That focus should help the game lean into the region’s mix of mountain roads, city density, and open countryside.
Playground Games also says the game will highlight Japanese car culture with more than 550 real-world vehicles. That lineup includes classics, along with upgraded engine audio and updated steering animations with up to 540 degrees of wheel rotation.
More Forza Horizon 6 details are already circulating
The map reveal is only the latest piece of news tied to the game. Game Pass subscribers will still need to pay $60 for four-day early access, and gameplay footage has already leaked online, showing what appears to be a major issue with traffic density.
With the release date still months away, Forza Horizon 6 is already doing what big racing games do best: promising a lot, revealing just enough, and keeping everyone busy discussing the details before they can actually drive anywhere.
What comes next
Players will now be watching for more information on how the Summer Season map may change, and whether Playground Games plans to expand on the seasonal system before launch.
