Want free in-game goodies without logging into Overwatch often enough to remember what your teammates look like? Good news: Blizzard rolled out three separate Twitch Drop campaigns during the Reign of Talon mid-season window. Watch streams, earn rewards, and pretend it was all skill.
What just dropped
The mid-Season 1 update went live on March 10 and came with balance tweaks, a Nier: Automata crossover, the Hop Online! Mythic Mei skin, and a handful of events like an April Fools mode named Underwatch and Junkrats Loot Hunt. To keep the hype going, Blizzard launched three Twitch Drop campaigns that hand out Loot Boxes, Battle Pass Tier Skips, cosmetics, and Competitive Points for viewers who watch participating streams during specific windows.
How to claim the freebies
- Connect your Battle.net account with your Twitch account.
- Watch Overwatch streams on Twitch during the specified campaign windows to earn time-based rewards.
- Claim any earned items from your Twitch Drops inventory.
- The rewards will appear in Overwatch automatically once claimed.
Drop schedule and what you get
There are three separate drop campaigns running between now and the start of Season 2. Watch the right streams for the right amount of time and collect the loot.
Mid-Season 1 campaign (Mar 10 to Apr 5)
- 15 minutes watched: Ramistletoe Ramattra Spray
- 1 hour watched: Loot Box
- 3 hours watched: Loot Box
- 7 hours watched: Epic Loot Box
In short, seven hours during this period nets you two common Loot Boxes, one epic Loot Box, and the festive Ramistletoe Ramattra spray. Fun fact: that Ramistletoe design came from community suggestions during a Q&A with the game director, and yes, it features Ramattra sporting a scarf and reindeer antlers. Costume choices are a powerful form of diplomacy.
Collegiate Spring Playoffs drops (Mar 13 to Mar 15)
- 30 minutes watched: Battle Pass Tier Skip
- 1 hour watched: Ramattra, Zenyatta, and Bastion Spray
- 3 hours watched: Battle Pass Tier Skip
- 4 hours watched: Bastion Player Icon
- 6 hours watched: Battle Pass Tier Skip
- 8 hours watched: Orisa and Zenyatta Namecard
This set of drops ties to the Collegiate Spring Playoffs. Note that not every Overwatch stream will count here. You need to watch qualifying channels, including the official esports broadcast, to get these rewards.
Season 1 Competitive Drives drops (Apr 9 to Apr 13)
- Every 2 hours watched: 100 Competitive Points
- Watch up to 10 hours for a total of 500 Competitive Points
Want Competitive Points for your ranked grind without grinding? Watch two hours to score 100 points, and stack up to five times. Its like training, except you can do it in your pajamas.
What comes next
Season 2 begins on April 14 and will bring a new hero, a port to Switch 2, additional balance changes, a reworked Antarctic Peninsula map, and more seasonal updates. Expect Blizzard to celebrate that rollout with more Twitch Drops, because free stuff is basically the official season punctuation now.
If you like getting things for doing nothing more strenuous than watching a stream, these drops are your moment. Connect accounts, queue up a stream, and let the rewards roll in while you perfect the art of passive play.
