Warzone Season 3 for Black Ops 7 drops on April 2 and it is not subtle. Expect a new point of interest in southwest Verdansk, Avalon joining large-map rotation later in the season, six new weapons, new Gulags, several limited-time modes, and a handful of gameplay tools meant to shake up how matches play out.

Quick roadmap overview

Season 3 brings Black Ops Royale and some core Black Ops 7 features into the main battle royale loop. The big-picture changes are:

  • Verdansk gets a major new POI called Launch Pad replacing the old Hills area.
  • Avalon will rotate into Core Battle Royale later in the season alongside Verdansk, with its own Gulag set.
  • Six new weapons arrive across the season, plus an expanded attachment pool.
  • New modes, events, and movement and combat items land across Season 3.

All new weapons and attachments

Season 3 adds six weapons. Two are available immediately through the Season 3 Battle Pass: the MK35 ISR assault rifle and the VST SMG. The other four are tied to events and weekly challenges and include the Strider 300 sniper rifle, the returning 1911 pistol, the Siren special weapon, and a Katana melee weapon.

Attachments also expand this season. Highlights include the VAS Convergence Foregrip for recoil control, an underbarrel shotgun option for the Shadow SK sniper, and a Spear Gun underbarrel for the X9 Maverick assault rifle, plus other attachments distributed across the update.

Maps and the new Launch Pad POI in Verdansk

Verdansk remains in rotation but the southwest Hills area is replaced by Launch Pad, also called the Grazna-7 Launch Complex. The POI is designed as a hot-drop hub and will be featured in standard BR and the Launch Squad LTM.

Control Tower

The Control Tower is smaller in footprint but strong in sightlines, with a dominant rooftop angle over southwest Verdansk. You can reach the top via an exterior Ascender or a ladder that opens to a viewing balcony and a Zipline connecting to the Hangar.

Hangar

The Hangar is the tallest structure and the visual anchor of Launch Pad. It can host a central rocket in some modes. Even without the rocket, expect vertical, maze-like interiors with winding stairs, platforms, and ledges that create multiple sightlines and flanking opportunities.

Gantry

Gantry is a skeletal tower of platforms and stairways opposite the Hangar. It is built for long-range sightlines and quick rotations. Twin staircases lead to mid-level walkways and higher sniper perches, while a flame trench and blast doors below create tight close-quarters funnels.

Depot and Vats

Depot and Vats sit on the outer edge of Launch Pad. The Depot brings a train element and small high-ground pockets for rotation plays. Rows of vats and fuel tanks offer low cover and sneaky flanks between the Gantry, Hangar, and the road. You can climb tanks and platforms for off-angles and fall back into offices and crates under pressure.

Avalon rotation and new Gulags

Avalon will join Core Battle Royale later in Season 3 and rotate with Verdansk, so lobbies will alternate between the two large maps. Avalon introduces three new Gulag variants, all compact octagon-style arenas designed to force fast, decisive engagements.

Across Avalon Gulags, Wall Jump is disabled. Each map centers on a combat zone surrounded by an upper observation ring with interrogation stations, automatic doors, and reinforced glass that alters cover and sightlines as rounds progress.

  • Server Room 04 uses server racks and sliding doors to create tight lanes that reward sound and timing.
  • Cryo Lab 05 is full of cryo coffins and has diagonal entrances that split the arena into A and B lanes.
  • Meeting Room 07 is a more open central space with low circular seating and multiple open doors.

New and returning modes

Launch Squad

Launch Squad centers on the new Launch Pad POI. Squads drop directly into the POI rather than across the whole map. Teams collect Launch Codes through eliminations and other sources to trigger a Launch Sequence. Activating that sequence labels the team as the Most Wanted squad and forces them to survive until the match ends. Eliminations and extra Launch Codes reduce the required survival time. There are no Buy Stations, no cash, and no Redeploy Drones. Respawns are enabled to keep the mode fast and aggressive.

Hot Pursuit

Hot Pursuit arrives mid-season as part of Black Ops Royale on Avalon and plays like a cops-and-robbers scenario inspired by earlier modes. Squads of four drop in with respawns active as long as at least one teammate remains alive. Police vehicles chase the “robber” squads while robbers use getaway cars, planned routes, and valuables around Avalon to try to stay ahead.

Prop Hunt Royale and Iron Gauntlet

Prop Hunt Royale returns with the Reloaded update around late April or early May. It runs on Rebirth Island with 48 players.

Iron Gauntlet comes back on Avalon with 150 players. It offers tiered rewards based on leaderboard performance:

  • Five Iron Gauntlet wins unlock a weapon charm and weapon vinyl.
  • Any placement on the Iron Gauntlet leaderboard grants a placement emblem.
  • Top 25 earns an animated weapon camo and emblem.
  • Top 10 grants a Top 10 emblem.
  • Top 5 awards an animated weapon camo and emblem.
  • First place awards the Iron Gauntlet #1 animated emblem.

New movement and combat features

Wall Jump and the Grappling Hook will be available in both Battle Royale and Resurgence. Flashpoint is a new public event focused on a launched missile and presents a high-risk, high-reward objective mid-match.

Spikes are a new purchasable Boost-type item from Buy Stations. Exact stats were not fully detailed, but these are intended to give teams another source of power beyond loot, contracts, and streaks. The Cluster Grenade is a new lethal designed to contest stacked rooftop and stairwell positions, and the vertical layout of Launch Pad makes it relevant.

Resurgence Ranked Play Season 2

Resurgence Ranked Play returns for a second season with maps including Haven's Hollow and Rebirth Island. Players improve progression by raising their Skill Rating through placements and eliminations. Rewards include exclusive cosmetics tied to your final Division at season end.

Season 3 is a substantial update that mixes map redesign, new tools, and fresh modes to change how both short and long matches feel. Expect a faster pace in some places and new tactical wrinkles around movement, gadgets, and map control.
