Vince Vaughn on a possible Wedding Crashers sequel

At a Los Angeles premiere on March 24, Vince Vaughn answered the question a lot of us have been asking at awkward dinner parties. Are he and Owen Wilson crashing weddings again? Vaughn kept it realistic and, yes, selective.

He told reporters that "there's always been discussions about it," but stressed that any follow-up would need a solid reason to exist. "If there's a good story, it's always fun to do something, but I think you need a really good idea and not just jump into it," he said. The actor added that he has generally avoided sequels in his career, noting he has been asked before but prefers projects that stand on their own.

Who might return

Vaughn flagged that a reunion could be fun if everything lined up. He mentioned getting back together with the original cast, which of course included Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Bradley Cooper, Christopher Walken, and Isla Fisher. When asked where the Nick and John duo might show up next, Vaughn offered a shrug and a tease: "Who knows. Could be a lot of different places, right? You never know in life where roads take you."

Where things stand with Isla Fisher

Isla Fisher, who played Claire in the original film, told reporters earlier that conversations had taken place and that the team had come "pretty close" to nailing an idea. She praised the Vaughn and Wilson pairing for its strong on-screen chemistry and said she would be excited to see them together again.

Quick reminder: what Vince is promoting now

Vaughn, 55, is currently starring as Nick in a new Hulu sci-fi action comedy called Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. That film is set to be released on March 27.
