Charley is not done yet
Uma Thurman will return for Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection, bringing back Charley, the former Special Ops officer who spent Season 1 as Leon Prater’s trusted right-hand woman. After Prater’s betrayal came into focus, Charley cut ties with the billionaire and fled the city with her mother in tow. Apparently, escape was only a temporary scheduling conflict.
With Prater out of the picture, the series is leaving one obvious question hanging in the air: is Charley heading back as an ally, or is Dexter Morgan about to meet another problem with excellent tactical training?
Thurman joins another new name
Thurman is the second Season 2 casting reveal to surface. The first was Brian Cox, who will play Don Frampt, better known as the New York Ripper.
Frampt is described as a serial killer who terrorized New York years ago. He is no longer killing, but he has found a more modern hobby: keeping his name alive by taunting the people who survived his murder spree. Subtlety, clearly, remains off the table.
Where Season 1 left Dexter
Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection, from showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, picked up weeks after Dexter was shot in the chest by his own son. He wakes from a coma to find Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, missing without a trace.
After realizing the damage he caused, Dexter heads to New York City to track down Harrison and try to fix what he broke. As these things tend to go for Dexter, that plan does not stay simple for long.
When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista, played by David Zayas, shows up with questions, Dexter understands that his past is catching up fast. Father and son are soon moving through the city’s darkness together, and they end up farther in than either expected. The only apparent exit is staying united.
