The April Fool’s event is live

Pokémon Pokopia, which launched on Nintendo Switch 2 last month, has already moved from its Hoppip event to a new April Fool’s Day challenge. The reward is an Inflatable Sudowoodo, because apparently the game was not strange enough on its own.

The event is time-limited, so if you want the prize, you need to act while it is available. The setup is a little different from the Hoppip event, which told players what to do as soon as they loaded in.

How to claim the Inflatable Sudowoodo

To start the April Fool’s event, head to the PC outside the Pokémon Center and interact with it. That triggers a special challenge built around spotting Pokémon who are pretending to be someone else.

The trick is to read the dialogue and guess which Pokémon is doing the impersonation. You need to answer correctly three times. Once you do, the Inflatable Sudowoodo becomes available to collect from the PC.

The Pokémon involved are selected at random, but there is a visual clue. Look for a speech bubble above a Pokémon’s head with ... in it. That is the one ready to begin the act.

If you get an answer wrong, the game does not lock you out. Another Pokémon will still be available for the same interaction, so you can keep trying. After you finish the event, the other Pokémon around town can still trigger the April Fool’s interactions too, but there are no extra rewards waiting at the end of that particular road.

Can you get more than one Inflatable Sudowoodo?

Yes. You can obtain more than one, but not by repeating the April Fool’s event itself.

Once you have one Inflatable Sudowoodo, place it on the ground and take a photo of it. Make sure to use the scanner option, since that displays the item name in view. That scanned photo can then be taken to any rebuilt Pokémon Center.

Inside, interact with the 3D Printer and choose the photo of the Inflatable Sudowoodo. From there, you can decide how many copies to make. Each one costs Poké Metal, which can be farmed in large amounts on Dream Islands. Because naturally, no limited-time event would be complete without a secondary currency chore.

This same method works even if you miss the April Fool’s event entirely, as long as you can get a scan photo of the item. That can be done by visiting a friend’s island or a cloud island, then taking a scanner photo there before returning to your town and using the 3D Printer.

So if you are short on time, the event window is the fast route. If you are patient, the game still lets you work around it. Pokémon Pokopia, ever generous in its own slightly inconvenient way.
