First look from deep space
NASA has revealed the first images of Earth taken by the Artemis II crew as they make their way toward the Moon. The photos offer an early look at a mission that is not exactly short on ambition.
Artemis II is expected to carry humans farther from Earth than any previous mission, making it a significant milestone in the wider return to lunar exploration. In other words, this is the part where the agency reminds everyone that getting back to the Moon remains a rather big deal.
The images were unveiled on 4 April 2026, adding a visual marker to a mission that is being closely watched as the next major step in NASA’s human spaceflight program.
