If you already stood up when the credits started, congratulations: Eternia has once again punished impatience. The new live-action Masters of the Universe post-credits scenes include several extra moments, and the biggest ones point toward She-Ra, Skeletor and a much wider sequel path, even though Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios have not announced a follow-up.
Spoilers follow for the ending and credits scenes of Masters of the Universe.
What extra scenes are in the credits?
Post-release breakdowns have identified three separate credits moments in director Travis Knight’s film: an early comic beat, a mid-credits reveal and a final stinger after the credits finish. Not all of them carry the same weight, because even cinematic universes need a warm-up lap now and then.
The film opened theatrically in the United States on June 5, 2026. Nicholas Galitzine stars as Prince Adam, who becomes He-Man after the Sword of Power brings him back to Eternia following 15 years away. He returns to find his home under Skeletor’s control and must accept the destiny that comes with the very large sword and the very direct branding.
The cast includes Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto.
Orko gets the first fan-service moment
The first credits scene is the lightest of the three. It brings in Orko, the magical, comic figure long associated with the classic animated He-Man universe.
That appearance does not seem designed as the main sequel hook. Instead, it works as a signal to longtime fans that Knight’s version of Eternia may not be afraid of the stranger corners of the franchise. The first film focuses heavily on Adam’s origin, but Orko’s arrival suggests future stories could make room for the whimsical fantasy elements that helped define the original cartoons and toy line.
In other words, the movie may have started with heroic destiny, royal trauma and Skeletor’s rule, but it has not forgotten that this is also a universe where a floating magician can enter the chat.
She-Ra is the major sequel tease
The mid-credits scene is the one built to fuel the loudest fan discussion. It introduces She-Ra, also known as Princess Adora, and points beyond Eternia toward the larger mythology involving Etheria.
According to post-release reports, the scene references the Sword of Protection and presents Adora as someone who has moved past her former identity as a Force Captain. In Masters of the Universe lore, that title connects her to the Evil Horde.
In the original Filmation-era continuity, Adora is Prince Adam’s long-lost twin sister. She was kidnapped as a baby by Hordak, raised on Etheria and eventually became She-Ra. That backstory gives any sequel more than a new superhero introduction. It brings in family history, a second world and a new enemy structure beyond Skeletor’s immediate orbit.
Knight had already signaled before release that She-Ra would be important if the series continued. Speaking to SFX Magazine, the director said She-Ra has always been central to Adam’s world and added that, if more stories happen in this universe, “She-Ra will play a huge part.”
After the mid-credits reveal, that comment looks less like a vague franchise tease and more like a pretty bright road sign.
The final stinger suggests Skeletor is not finished
The last post-credits scene returns to the film’s main villain. After He-Man’s climactic fight with Skeletor, the final stinger shows Evil-Lyn arriving in the aftermath and retrieving Skeletor’s remains.
The implication is not especially subtle: Jared Leto’s Skeletor may not be gone for good. The scene does not officially announce Masters of the Universe 2, but it gives Evil-Lyn a potential role in bringing Skeletor back and keeps He-Man’s most famous enemy available for another round.
That tease also has franchise history behind it. The 1987 live-action Masters of the Universe, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor, ended with a post-credits scene implying Skeletor survived. That sequel never happened, which is one way to make a cliffhanger feel less like a promise and more like a historical warning label.
The 2026 film appears to echo that older ending while using the modern franchise playbook: leave the villain on the table, introduce a major hero and see whether the audience wants the next chapter badly enough.
Travis Knight says this is still Adam’s story
Even with all that sequel setup, Knight has been careful not to describe the film as a two-hour trailer for future installments. In interviews, he has emphasized that this Masters of the Universe is built around Adam.
Speaking to TechRadar about why some popular characters were left out of the main cast, Knight said the movie was “fundamentally Adam’s movie and story.” He explained that the creative team had to be selective about which characters actually supported that central arc.
That matters because the credits scenes are doing expansion work, but the main film is structured as an origin story. Adam returns to Eternia, faces the consequences of Skeletor’s rule and becomes He-Man. The bonus scenes then widen the frame after that journey is complete.
Knight has also discussed what could come next. In an interview with Nerdist, he said he thinks about “what happens next for Adam” now that the character has fully become He-Man. At the same time, he made clear that future movies depend on audience demand, not just on having ideas ready to go.
For now, there is no official sequel announcement from Amazon MGM Studios.
What could a sequel be about?
Taken together, the credits scenes outline several obvious directions without formally committing the studio to any of them:
- She-Ra’s reveal could bring Princess Adora, Etheria, Hordak and the Evil Horde into the live-action universe.
- Skeletor’s apparent survival gives Evil-Lyn a reason to return and possibly engineer his restoration.
- Orko’s cameo suggests future films may lean further into the colorful fantasy side of the franchise.
- Adam’s completed origin leaves room for a sequel about what kind of hero, brother and ruler-adjacent muscle icon he becomes next.
The clean answer is simple: yes, Masters of the Universe has post-credits scenes, and at least two of them matter for a possible sequel. The film closes the first chapter of He-Man’s live-action origin, then uses the credits to make one thing clear: Eternia is not being packed away yet.
