Charlie Cox is not done with Foggy Nelson

Charlie Cox has a theory for how Daredevil: Born Again could bring back Foggy Nelson, and it is not exactly a straightforward resurrection plan. During a panel at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), Cox brought up the possibility of getting Elden Henson’s longtime legal partner back into the story, even after Foggy was killed by Bullseye in the first season premiere.

The idea, according to the way Cox framed it, comes with a villainous edge. Which is fitting, because this is a Marvel show where even death apparently comes with an asterisk if a sufficiently chaotic plan is involved.

Foggy Nelson has been one of the key supporting characters in the Daredevil corner of the Marvel universe for years, so Cox’s comments will not surprise anyone who would prefer the show keep its core trio intact. But as things stand, the character’s fate in Born Again has already been established: Bullseye took him out in the opening episode.

That has not stopped Cox from imagining another path forward. He did not spell out a tidy, practical solution for the character’s return, but his remarks make it clear he still sees room for Foggy in the story, even if the route there is decidedly unhinged.

For now, that leaves fans with a familiar comic-book situation: a dead character, a possible loophole, and a cast member publicly entertaining the sort of idea that would make no sense in real life and only slightly more sense in a superhero series.
