Marvel Rivals' rapid hero drops made Blizzard wonder: what if Overwatch got 30 new heroes at once?

At GDC 2026 Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller said Marvel Rivals' big hero releases pushed Blizzard to imagine dropping a huge bundle of new heroes into Overwatch. Rivals has been aggressive with updates, reaching 47 characters since its late 2024 launch.
