About Marcus Reed

Marcus Reed is The Pixel Gazette's tech reporter. His beat covers consumer platforms, cloud and infrastructure, developer tooling, and the regulatory pressure shaping all three. He tends to read a product launch as a rollout strategy first and a feature list second, and his copy reflects that — the why usually precedes the what.

Marcus started out writing internal post-mortems for a mid-sized SaaS team, which is still how he thinks: what broke, what changed, and who is actually shipping. He is more interested in how a release was scoped than in how it was pitched, and he reads earnings calls, S-1s, and GitHub release notes as primary sources. When a headline says 'AI startup raises $100M', he wants to know what the money buys, who it dilutes, and which infra bill it pays down.

His writing is direct, structured, and occasionally dry. Expect clean explanations of mechanisms, explicit calling-out of incentives, and very little patience for empty launch-day breathlessness.
