If you assumed World of Tanks had run out of ideas, Update 2.2.1 politely disagrees. The patch adds three new Tier XI vehicles, each built around a clear signature ability. They are designed to change how you approach a fight rather than just offering more hit points.

Three new Tier XI entrants

The new vehicles are the Gorilla, the Fauteur, and the wheeled Executor. Each one brings a gameplay twist meant to create distinct roles on the battlefield.

Gorilla

Role: Sustained heavy gunfire

  • Key ability: The Gorilla can fire without waiting for a full reload to complete, letting it maintain a steady barrage.
  • This lets the vehicle keep pressure on targets with repeated shots rather than committing to a single big shell and waiting a long time.

Fauteur

Role: High-impact charged shots

  • Key ability: It has a propellant afterburner mechanic that charges the main gun. When activated, the gun builds extra charge and deals increased damage on the resulting shot.
  • This is useful when you need one decisive hit to change the flow of an engagement.

Executor (wheeled)

Role: Mobility and repositioning

  • Key ability: The wheeled Executor can trigger a nitro-style boost that temporarily increases its speed, complete with visible flaming exhaust effects.
  • Its main gun is not necessarily stronger than peers, but the burst mobility helps it close gaps, chase down targets, or exit danger rapidly.

Developers published a preview that shows these abilities in action and how each vehicle handles in combat. Expect Update 2.2.1 to make these three new Tier XI options available and to shift some strategic choices on battlefields where they appear.
