Raccoon City is back, and it's hiding secrets. In Resident Evil Requiem, the iconic, doomed metropolis returns as a sprawling chapter with three distinct sub-chapters and a total of 18 collectible files. These aren't just trophies; they're lore drops, puzzle clues, and narrative breadcrumbs that flesh out the game's world. But with so many tucked away in corners you might sprint past, missing them is easier than dodging a licker. This guide walks you through every single file location in chronological order, ensuring you leave no document unread.

The chapter is divided into East Raccoon City, Raccoon City Center (featuring the iconic R.P.D.), and the Orphanage. We'll follow that path, detailing exactly where to look so you can collect them efficiently without needing to backtrack or restart your nightmare run.

All Files in East Raccoon City

Your journey through the ruins begins here, with Leon Kennedy navigating the overrun streets.

File #48 - Report on the Raccoon City Incident

This one's a freebie. The file is automatically added to your inventory after the opening cutscene of Leon's chapter concludes. Check your Files menu—it'll be waiting for you.

File #49 - Raccoon City Incident Newspaper

Once you gain control of Leon, head south down the initial street. Just a few steps in front of his abandoned car, look to the right side of the pavement. You'll find the file lying among some discarded trash bags, a grim piece of litter from the city's final days.

File #50 - Orders for the Engineer Corps

Make your way into the Central Camp area. Inside the large blue tent, search the desks. The file is sitting there, detailing the doomed efforts to contain the outbreak.

File #51 - Battery Storage Locations

Venture into the Underground Parking Garage. Your objective is the locked main gate. Before you deal with that, inspect the Battery Box nearby. The file is tucked inside, offering a practical clue for your immediate surroundings.

File #52 - Inventory List

After exiting the garage and triggering the cutscene that nets you the BSAA Container Key, you'll find yourself near the Cedarbrook Apartments. Look for a blue container directly in front of the building. Head inside, and you'll spot the file resting on top of a crate.

File #53 - Engineer Corps Note

Your ascent leads to the Cedarbrook Apartments Roof. Here, you'll find a yellow container holding a key item. Check the area around this container; the note is left behind, a final message from the engineers who tried to hold this position.

All Files in Raccoon City Center (R.P.D.)

The heart of the horror. The Raccoon City Police Department is a labyrinth of nostalgia and new terrors, packed with files.

File #54 - R.P.D. Perimeter Report

Once you fight your way inside the R.P.D., head to the Main Hall and locate the typewriter save point. Directly opposite this save spot, sitting on a dusty crate, is this perimeter report.

File #55 - Top Secret Operation

Navigate to the West Office. Among the clutter of desks, one holds an open book. The Top Secret Operation file is placed there, hinting at the deeper conspiracies at play.

File #56 - Record of Events

Make your way to the Operations Room. In the center of this tense space is a blue board. Inspect it closely to find this record of the department's final, frantic hours.

File #57 - Guide Pamphlet

Important note: This file is not accessible during your initial pass through the R.P.D. You must complete the Orphanage section later in the story and return to the police station as Leon. Once back, you'll have access to a previously blocked area on the upper east floor of the Main Hall. Turn around upon entering this new area to spot the file sitting on a couch.

File #58 - Library Card

South of the Operations Room is the Reception area, which contains a ladder. Shoot it down to climb up. Follow the corridor on the second floor to enter the legendary S.T.A.R.S. Office. Inside, look for a drawer to the left of the entrance. Open it, then interact with the now-opened drawer again to discover the file hidden within.

File #59 - Barry's To Do List

Still in the S.T.A.R.S. Office, check the desk on the left side of the room. Barry Burton's surprisingly mundane to-do list is sitting there, a poignant reminder of the people behind the badges.

File #60 - Scavenger Hunt - Clue 1

Also in the S.T.A.R.S. Office, look for a distinctive brown leather jacket hanging between two desks. Inspect the jacket to find the first clue for an in-game scavenger hunt.

File #61 - Scavenger Hunt - Clue 2

Before you leave the office, check the wall of lockers. One locker on the south side is standing open. Inspect inside to grab the second scavenger hunt clue.

File #62 - Photograph

This one requires preparation. You must have already collected File #58 (Library Card) and File #59 (Barry's To Do List). With these in hand, head to the Library on the upper west floor. Go upstairs and take the walkway. To the right of a locked wooden door, you'll find a specific book you can now interact with. Open its pages to discover a hidden photograph.

All Files in the Orphanage

The tone shifts as you take control of Chloe, delving into a deeply unsettling new location. Be warned: you cannot return to this area after leaving, so grab these files while you can.

File #63 - Toe Tag

As Chloe, you'll find yourself in the Underground Chapel. Enter the room containing several black coffins. Approach the first coffin on the right-hand side and open it. Inside, you'll find this grim piece of evidence.

File #64 - Series 60 Results

After escaping the chapel, you'll enter a Research Lab. On one of the lab desks, an open file is waiting. This document details disturbing experimental results.

File #65 - New Researcher's Notebook

Also in the Research Lab, check the back right corner of a desk. A researcher's personal notebook is left here, offering a frantic, first-person account of the experiments gone wrong.

Collecting every file in Raccoon City does more than just tick a completion box. In a series built on hidden lore and environmental storytelling, these documents are the soul of the experience. They connect the dots between past and present tragedies, offering context to the chaos and making the city itself feel like a character with a story to tell. For completionists and lore hunters, this scavenger hunt through ruin is an essential part of the Resident Evil Requiem journey.
