Porsche has turned the internet’s nostalgia machine loose on three very expensive new objects: one-off Toy Story 911s inspired by Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie. The cars debuted June 9 on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5,” ahead of the film’s theatrical release on June 19, 2026.

The trio isn’t headed for a normal showroom rollout, because even sports cars now come with lore. Porsche created the vehicles with Disney and Pixar as charity-focused collector pieces benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross and Starlight Children’s Foundation.

What Porsche and Pixar actually built

The project consists of three heavily customized Porsche 911 models, each matched to one of the franchise’s central characters:

  • A Porsche 911 GT3 RS inspired by Buzz Lightyear
  • A Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS inspired by Jessie
  • A Porsche 911 Carrera T inspired by Woody

Porsche built the cars through Sonderwunsch, its special-request personalization division, which handles bespoke work that goes beyond the regular options list. These are one-of-one cars, not limited editions with a numbered plaque and a queue of buyers calling their dealers before breakfast.

Porsche Cars North America President and CEO Timo Resch framed the collaboration as a blend of nostalgia and philanthropy, noting that parents and children have grown up with the “Toy Story” films. Bob Pauley, the Pixar production designer who originally designed Buzz Lightyear, said the effort reunited Pixar with the Porsche team that worked on the earlier Sally Special from Disney and Pixar’s “Cars.”

Why the cars are tied to Toy Story 5

The reveal is part of the promotional push for “Toy Story 5,” which continues the franchise that began with Pixar’s 1995 animated debut. The new movie’s “Toy meets Tech” premise follows Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of Bonnie’s toys as they meet Lilypad, a tablet device voiced by Greta Lee, whose ideas challenge the toys’ place in Bonnie’s playtime.

The film is directed by Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Kenna Harris. Returning voice cast members include Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear and Joan Cusack as Jessie.

For Disney and Pixar, the Porsche partnership extends the franchise into luxury collectible territory. For Porsche, it places the 911 inside a mainstream pop-culture moment without having to pretend a rear wing is a toy accessory. The pitch is straightforward: a beloved movie series, three recognizable characters, and cars that collectors can see as both design pieces and fundraising tools.

Buzz Lightyear becomes a GT3 RS

The most track-minded car in the group is the Buzz Lightyear 911 GT3 RS, based on the 992.1-generation GT3 RS and fitted with the optional Weissach Package. Its white, green and purple exterior mirrors Buzz’s Space Ranger suit, while the large rear wing is painted as a nod to the character’s pop-out wings.

Porsche fitted the car with white magnesium wheels, Space Ranger center caps and custom Goodyear “Lightyear” tires. The tires include molded sidewall lettering made specifically for this build, because subtlety was never really the point once “Space Ranger center caps” entered the picture.

Inside, the GT3 RS uses Pebble Grey leather, Arctic Grey Race-Tex and Violeta leather. Lizard Green appears on the seat belts, stitching and door opening loops. The dashboard carries a one-of-one inscription and a Buzz Lightyear motif created by Pauley.

The illuminated door sills quote the character’s signature line, “To Infinity and Beyond.” Porsche also equipped the car with a front-axle lift system, Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes with black calipers and an extended-range fuel tank.

Jessie gets a pearl-white Targa

Jessie’s car is a 532-horsepower 2026 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS, customized extensively by hand. Porsche created a new finish called Jessie White Metallic, a white paint with a pearl overlay intended to recall the pearl buttons on Jessie’s western shirt.

The front and rear fascias, along with the lower rocker panels, are finished in 944 Cobalt Blue Metallic. Atacama Yellow and GTS Red accents reference details from Jessie’s costume. On the Targa bar, Porsche replaced the standard “targa” script with “Jessie,” using the brand’s model-designation style.

The cabin continues the western theme with Dark Night Blue, Bordeaux Red and Pebble Grey leather. Denim-look fabric appears on the seat centers and door-panel centers, while the floor mats use a black-and-white cowhide pattern.

The illuminated door sills read “YEE HAW!” The options list is not shy either: Premium Package, Night Vision Assist, Porsche InnoDrive, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, Power Steering Plus and a front-axle lift system are all included.

Woody’s Carrera T goes full denim

Woody’s tribute is a 2026 Porsche 911 Carrera T with an exterior designed to look like worn blue jeans. Porsche used Dark Sea Blue, Golf Blue and White to create the denim-like texture, then added Coffee Black on the front fascia and lower rocker panels.

Aurum appears on the front spoiler lip, while Fire Red graphics along the lower doors spell out Woody’s name. Custom wheels complete the character-specific look.

Inside, Porsche leans into the cowboy-toy theme without turning the cabin into a costume shop. Speed Yellow leather inserts are printed with a red checkered pattern, referencing Woody’s shirt. Porsche also used brown vintage leather for the first time in this application, meant to suggest the worn patina of a well-loved toy.

That leather is paired with Dark Night Blue leather, denim-look fabric and cowhide-pattern floor mats. The illuminated door sills read “Ride Like the Wind!”

The customization went far beyond decals

Automotive outlets that inspected the cars noted that the builds rely on paint rather than vinyl graphics. Motor1 reported that Porsche’s Sonderwunsch team spent more than 350 hours hand-finishing each vehicle.

Car and Driver also reported that the project began after Pixar figures Bob Pauley and Jay Ward approached Porsche at Monterey Car Week. That followed the companies’ earlier work on the Sally Special, another one-off Porsche tied to a Pixar character and a charity sale.

That 2022 Porsche 911 Sally Special, inspired by Sally Carrera from “Cars,” sold at RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction for $3.6 million. Proceeds went to Girls Inc. and USA for UNHCR. The result showed that character-driven collector cars can raise serious money when nostalgia, scarcity and charitable purpose line up.

Porsche has not announced public pricing for the new trio. It also has not presented the cars as models that general buyers can order, which is probably for the best, unless the neighborhood school pickup line is ready for bespoke Space Ranger tires.

A collector play with a charitable engine

The three cars sit at the intersection of film marketing, luxury manufacturing and nonprofit fundraising. They are promotional objects, yes, but they also show how far Porsche’s personalization program can push a familiar model without losing the 911 underneath.

The beneficiary organizations broaden the project beyond red-carpet spectacle. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross and Starlight Children’s Foundation are the named nonprofit partners, with Porsche saying the vehicle sales are intended to support children, families and communities.

As “Toy Story 5” approaches its June 19 release, the Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie builds give the franchise a physical presence outside theaters and toy aisles. They also reinforce a pattern luxury brands know well: nostalgia gets stronger when it’s rare, carefully made and tied to a cause. In this case, it also happens to have carbon ceramic brakes.
