If you play Ranked in Black Ops 7 or Warzone, there is a new end-of-season showpiece called the Ranked Series. It launches right after your rank is locked and gives players one final competitive window to fight for ladder placement and exclusive cosmetics.
What the Ranked Series is
The Ranked Series is a short, intense event that begins once Ranked Play closes and Skill Rating, or SR, is frozen. Players are automatically sorted into competitive ladders based on their final rank at the end of the regular Ranked season.
Each ladder contains 50 players from the same rank tier, covering tiers from Gold up to Iridescent. The top 250 players across the game are placed into a separate, single ladder. The objective is simple: win matches, earn Ladder Points, and try to reach the top of your ladder before the event ends.
How the ladders and scoring work
The Ranked Series is designed as a short sprint rather than a long marathon. Your final performance during the event determines how high you climb and which rewards you unlock. The scoring rules differ between Black Ops 7 Multiplayer and Warzone, so plan accordingly.
BO7 Multiplayer
Multiplayer uses a straightforward Ladder Points system. For each match:
- Win: +31 Ladder Points
- Loss: -21 Ladder Points
Consistency matters. Stringing together wins will move you up quickly, so play with teammates you can rely on and avoid random solo queues if you want to climb.
Warzone
Warzone uses a more detailed scoring method that rewards both eliminations and survival, similar to large-scale competitive formats. Points are applied per match as follows:
- Eliminations: +1 point per elimination
- Deaths: -2 points per death
- Placement bonuses:
- 1st place: +10 points
- 2nd to 3rd: +7 points
- 4th to 6th: +5 points
- 7th to 9th: +3 points
- 10th to 12th: +1 point
- 13th to 15th: 0 points
- Disconnect penalties:
- 1st offense: -3 points
- 2nd offense: -5 points
- 3rd offense: -10 points
- 4th offense: -15 points
In short, staying alive and racking up eliminations both help. Coordinated squads that avoid risky rotations and secure high placements will generally score better than solo, uncoordinated runs.
Season 2 timing
For Season 2, Skill Rating is frozen on March 25 at 11:00 pm CT / 9:00 pm PT, which corresponds to March 26 at 12:00 am ET. The Ranked Series event then runs from March 26 through March 31. After the event ends, Ranked Play is taken offline until Season 3 begins.
Rewards in Season 2 Ranked Series
Rewards are handed out based on ladder placement and via a Challenge Track available to participants. Per-rank rewards for Season 2 include:
- 1st place: 1st Place emblem
- Top 5: Top 5 emblem plus an animated weapon camo
- Top 10: Top 10 emblem
- Top 25: Top 25 emblem plus a weapon camo
- Top 50: Ranked Series emblem
All players can also earn items through the Challenge Track, such as a Ranked Series vinyl and a weapon charm. The Ranked Series weapon camos are unique to each mode and are awarded in addition to standard Ranked Play camos.
If you plan to go for ladder glory, prioritize consistent teammates, clean rotations, and staying in matches. The Ranked Series is quick and unforgiving, but the rewards are worth the push if you enjoy competitive play.
