The Pokemon Company has teased a small batch of Pokemon Pokopia plushies that will hit Pokemon Center this summer. The preview image showed three new dolls: Peakychu, Mosslax, and Professor Tangrowth. Yes, more soft things to rearrange on your shelf.
Which plushies showed up
- Peakychu
- Mosslax
- Professor Tangrowth
The picture the company posted was taken outdoors with some plants in the background. From how the dolls compare to the grass and bushes in the photo, they look roughly the same size as the Comfy Friends plush line, though official dimensions and prices have not been shared.
Why this is happening now
Pokemon Pokopia has been a big hit. The game launched exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5, 2026, and sold more than 2.2 million copies worldwide in its first four days. That strong reception, and a cheeky new take on familiar Pokemon designs, makes themed plushies an obvious next step.
The game’s physical release shipped on the new Game-Key Card format, which drew some controversy, but that did not stop copies from briefly selling out at major retailers like Target and Walmart.
Fan reaction and concerns
Some fans are happy to see Peakychu get official merchandise. Others asked for additional characters such as Chef Dente to receive plush treatments in the future. A portion of the community is worried these Pokopia plushes could sell out quickly and then appear with inflated resale prices.
For now, The Pokemon Company has not announced exact release dates or retail prices for the Pokopia plushes, so interested collectors will have to wait for more details.
Squishmallows and game support
Separately, Squishmallows confirmed additional Pokemon plushies, including Raichu and Oshawott, will also be sold through Pokemon Center. Historically, Pokemon Squishmallows have been about 12 inches and retail around $29.99, so similar sizing and pricing are likely but not confirmed.
The Pokemon Company also confirmed that Pokemon Pokopia will receive post-launch updates. One planned patch aims to fix issues where certain Pokemon, like Squirtle and Professor Tangrowth, could get stuck on blocks and block player progress. Since the story requires specific Pokemon to be in certain places, those fixes should help reduce frustrating soft locks.
In short, expect more merch this summer, more plush options for collectors, and at least one patch to smooth out gameplay hiccups. Keep an eye on official Pokemon Center announcements for the exact dates and prices.
