If you like clean, stylish weapon skins and the idea of earning one without paying a cent, the Spotted camo is your new goal. It is a universal camo for Black Ops 7 weapons and you unlock it through a small scavenger hunt inside the Old Arsenal point of interest on Avalon.
What the Spotted camo is and where to start
The Spotted camo is a dotted, neutral-looking finish that works on every gun category from ARs to SMGs. Once you finish the task it becomes a permanent option in your loadouts.
Start at Old Arsenal, the small industrial island in the southeast of Avalon. Look for the tall red building, go to the top floor and scan the central table to pick up the shiny dog tags. That action starts the Operator Order challenge for the camo. If the tags are not on that table, search nearby small buildings and shacks for an alternate spawn.
What you must collect next
After you grab the dog tags, your next job is to find exactly 10 paint cans in the same Old Arsenal POI during that same match. These are small colorful tins that only count if picked up inside Old Arsenal, and they spawn in random spots such as room corners, on shelves, on barrels, window sills, crates, and floors.
Important rules: the 10 cans must be collected in one match. If you die or leave the match before getting all 10, the progress resets for the next game. Players report that doing this well takes about 10 minutes if you focus on clearing the area methodically.
Common paint can spawn locations
- Main red building: ground and upper floors, desks and shelves — often multiple cans here
- Small edge shacks: corners and barrels outside; also an alternate dog tag spot
- Warehouses: behind crates, on high shelves, near machinery
- Outdoor barrels and crane platforms: check bases and elevated platforms
- Roofs and window ledges: sometimes tucked on edges that need a small jump to reach
How to claim and equip the Spotted camo
The moment you pick up the 10th paint can the challenge completes and the Spotted camo unlocks immediately. To use it, open the Weapons menu, go to Gunsmith, choose the Spotted camo and apply it to any weapon you like. It will be available in Black Ops 7 multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.
Note that at the time of writing Black Ops Royale does not support weapon skins, so you will not be able to use the camo inside Royale matches even though you earn it from a Royale challenge.
Quick tip: land early, clear the red building first, and sweep the surrounding shacks and warehouses. That approach minimizes time spent running back and forth and increases the chance you finish the collection in one match.
