Keglord Garnier Mk. XXIII waits for you at the Laughing Marionette in Demeniss and does not play nice. The fight is heavily mechanic-driven, so guessing your way through will cost you. Focus on his hands, shoulders, and head, use the right attacks, and you will break his defenses instead of your patience.

What to bring before fighting Keglord in Crimson Desert

  • Turning Slash and Stab are your primary tools.
  • Stab is unlocked automatically and is performed with R1+Triangle (RB+Y).
  • Turning Slash can be boosted by Abyss Artifacts in the blue skill tree and is executed with R1+R2 (RB+RT).
  • Bring plenty of recovery items such as Braised Meat and Meat Skewers. Keglord dishes out unavoidable damage and you will need sustained healing to stay in the fight and keep Spirit for Turning Slash.
  • Palmar Pills are very helpful because this is a two-phase encounter where a revive can save a run.
  • Armor with Lightning Resistance helps reduce some damage but is not required to win.

Note: Ignore any HUD hint telling you to use Blinding Flash to detect weakness. That is not the method that reliably defeats this boss.

Phase 1

  • Wait for Keglord to slam his hands down. Attack the hands repeatedly to reveal the green weak point.
  • Use Turning Slash on the central coil. It builds stun, deals reliable damage, and its animation grants brief immunity to incoming hits.
  • When Keglord is stunned, rush a hand and use Stab (R1+Triangle) then R2. This will make the weak point on the hand burst and deal significant damage.
  • Repeat the same process on the other hand until the fight shifts to his shoulders.
  • Stun him again via the central coil, climb to his shoulders, and stab them until that blue health bar is gone.

Phase 2

  • Keep attacking the central coil with Turning Slash to build stun on the boss.
  • Continue stacking stun until Keglord collapses to the ground.
  • Rush to his green head, use Stab, then draw your sword to finish him instantly.

Quick tips

  • Spam heals throughout the fight. Many of Keglord's attacks are hard to avoid, so healing is not optional. Expect to use a lot of Meat Skewers on a single run.
  • Keep Turning Slash and Stab ready and focus on forcing stuns via the central coil rather than trying to dodge every projectile.
  • Palmar Pills give you a safety net for mistakes during the two-phase sequence.

Follow this pattern, bring the right consumables, and practice the stun rhythm. Keglord is punishing, but once you learn where to strike and when to heal, the fight becomes routine.
