Good news for anyone who likes cooperative explosions and friendly chaos. For the first time since launch, the developers of Helldivers 2 have offered a peek at what they plan to add over the next few months. The preview is deliberately brief and a little mysterious, which could be intentional or could mean the team likes vague suspense. Either way, there are some clear takeaways.

High level: what’s coming

The roadmap promises a mix of the usual updates and some genuinely new stuff. Highlights include:

  • More warbonds for those who enjoy long reward tracks.
  • New galactic war campaigns to push the overall meta forward.
  • Quality of life improvements to smooth out recurring issues.
  • New biomes arriving in April and again in June.
  • New enemies slated for March, plus an additional enemy variant promised in April.

March enemies and the live patch

Some of the March enemies were already added to the game files in a recent patch, but they will not be active in matches until March 20. When they go live the Illuminate faction will begin deploying new threats including the Veracitor and Gatekeeper piloted constructs. The patch also introduced a new variant of the Watcher enemy.

The same update brought in dangerous exostorms and new missions focused on destroying the exotowers that create those storms. Players should also expect another round of weapon balance adjustments as part of this patch.

April and June: more biomes and another enemy variant

Beyond March, the roadmap specifically calls out new environments coming in April and June. The team also indicated a further enemy variant will arrive in April. Details were light, so players will need to wait for follow up posts or in-game appearances to learn names and mechanics.

What’s happening right now

Meanwhile, the current major order keeps pushing into Illuminate territory for a few more days. Players are being directed toward the planet SEASSE where communal objectives are active. Finish those objectives and the community earns shared rewards.

Short version: expect steady content over the next three months with fresh biomes, more enemies, campaign updates, and some polish. The roadmap is terse, but it at least gives players a timeline to look forward to.
