GENOA - After three wins in the last four games, Daniele De Rossi has one clear message for his Genoa side and their supporters: do not relax. The team sits nine points clear of the drop zone but the coach kept repeating "We are not safe" ahead of Friday's home match against Udinese.

De Rossi wants no drop in intensity

De Rossi reminded everyone that the season does not end with this match and that a break follows, so Genoa cannot afford a poor result before the pause. He referenced the boost that playing at the Ferraris can give, saying he has felt that effect personally, but he was also blunt: a loud crowd will not score goals for the team. What will matter, he said, is the players' commitment.

"If we play with effort, aggression and fight, everything will look easier," De Rossi said. He added that keeping the same atmosphere seen in recent games would be a major advantage and that he could not imagine going into the break with a negative result.

The appeal to the fans

Genoa return to the Ferraris after the win over Roma, and De Rossi noted the squad's enthusiasm did not fade in Verona. He praised the image of the stadium celebrating a victory and asked supporters to help keep that momentum going. The coach stressed the team still needs a few points to feel truly safe and expects the same intensity he saw against Roma and Torino.

"I want to see that chemistry between fans and players that can turn the Ferraris into a real frenzy," he said.

On the opponent

De Rossi warned that Udinese will not be easy. He said the team has four or five players of very high level, naming Zaniolo, Davies and Solet as examples, and described Udinese's squad as physically similar to Verona but with greater quality. He called the match very tough and added that Genoa did not underestimate Verona, so they will not underestimate Udinese either.

In short, De Rossi is asking for focus on the pitch and noise in the stands. He wants the Ferraris to be an asset, not a distraction, as Genoa aim to protect their league status before the upcoming break.
