Cyberpunk 2077 is expanding beyond consoles and cards and into the sweaty, neon-lit world of arcades. The new cabinet called Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush puts players on a physical motorbike and turns Night City into a place to race and fight. If you liked arcade racers before, this one adds a lot more teeth.

Chrome Rush revealed

UNIS Technology, a company that has made arcade machines for over 30 years, worked with CD Projekt to build this game. They call it an arcade combat racer and it supports up to six players at once. Yes, you can race and shoot your friends in the same room.

How it plays

  • Physical bike controls: Players sit on a motorcycle rig and manually brake and accelerate.
  • Buttons on the bike: Use these to fire weapons and trigger Nitro Boosts.
  • Character and bike selection: Pick a character and an in-game bike before starting. Current characters appear to be new to the Cyberpunk universe rather than established faces.
  • Combat plus racing: Expect drifting through neon streets one moment and shooting shotguns around corners the next.

The experience is described as a chaotic mix of high-speed racing and close-quarters combat. Visuals show streets like North Oak filled with neon and mayhem, which is exactly what you want from an arcade rush.

There is no firm public rollout date yet, but arcade operators can inquire now about purchasing machines. So if you run a game room or own a barcade, keep an eye out.

For context, Cyberpunk 2077 had a difficult launch, but over the five years since then it has grown into a big open-world hit and has sold more than 35 million copies. The brand has also expanded into other projects like an animated series and a trading card game, so an arcade cabinet feels like a natural next step.
